OTA Soccer Performance System Q & A

Our Soccer Performance System celebration is still going strong.

And naturally a lot of athletes have questions about what's inside of Soccer Performance System... For good reason.

Because many athletes are beginning to realize that they can gain a huge edge over their teammates and their competition by spending a little bit of time in the gym.

It's really that simple.

Alright, let's jump into these questions:

1. How can soccer players prevent knee injuries?

Non-contact knee injuries usually stem from muscle imbalance.

And usually, under-active glutes play a role.

So one big measure you can take to avoid knee injuries is to turn on and strengthen your glutes with monster walks, VMO step downs, and other hip activation exercises.

You can find most of these inside of Soccer Performance System.

2. What makes Soccer Performance System so great?

From what I've seen, Soccer Performance System is one of the only soccer programs dedicated to enhancing your physical performance without skill work or ball drills.

It contains a complete approach to plyometric training, speed training, agility training, strength training and more.

3. What can I expect inside of the program?

If you're already an OTA athlete, you should know what to expect when you grab a program.

If not, the Soccer Performance System program is a 4 day split.

Two days are upper body focused, two days are lower body focused.

Each day you'll have specific power programming (which can include COD, agility, speed, plyometrics, and even some short bursts of sprinting), a strength portion, an auxiliary portion, and core training.

In other words...

Soccer Performance System is a one stop shop for enhancing the physical performance of soccer players.

No stone is left unturned.

Which means when you use the program as it's laid out, you'll develop into a well-rounded athlete.

4. What do I get when I grab Soccer Performance System this week?

I try to be the Gucci of program delivery. That's why I always over-deliver when I create a new program.

When you grab Soccer Performance System, you get a MOUNTAIN of content along with the Soccer Performance System program, including:

* The Soccer Performance System Video Series

* A Detailed Soccer Performance System Theory Manual

* Access to the OTA Exercise Database

* The Soccer Performance System Program

* The Soccer Performance System Progress Manual

PLUS: You'll receive THREE special bonuses when you grab The Soccer Performance System During Launch Week.

[OVERTIME ATHLETES] Embarrassing

The other day, I was talking to one of my newer athletes who came to me after being cleared from an ACL injury.

Unfortunately, he had two D-I scholarship offers revoked when he injured his knee.

And worse than that, he told me that after he hurt his knee, he still came to practice to help out. Some unknowing scouts would come to practice hoping to get a look at him. They'd talk to his coaches for five minutes then leave.

He told me that was the worst part.

And all he did was go up for a ball, and when he came down, his knee collapsed.

Luckily, he's back in the gym.

And luckily, he has the right connections and his chances of suiting up for a D-1 school are high.

Other athletes aren't so lucky.

The saddest part of all of this is that non-contact injuries are preventable for the most part.

It just takes a few minutes a day to stretch, mobilize, and perform the corrective exercises needed to address structural deficiencies, imbalances, and muscle weakness.

Stretching the hips,

Building up the muscles of the posterior,

Raising force absorption capacity through eccentric tempos,

And correctives that target the muscles of the glutes and knee can ALL play a huge role in minimizing risk of injury.

Of course you need sound programming too.

But this will be a big help...

(While you're there, check out my other videos on stretching, mobility, and activation to craft a corrective routine for yourself)

Most athletes are distracted with social media, video games, and more.

They overlook the small stuff.

Or they're too lazy to do it.

But that's where the money's at.

The small details will keep you on the field, enhance your athleticism, and elevate your performance.

I can guarantee...

The athletes who haven't trained since this pandemic started are the same ones who will be riddled with injuries when they return to their sport...

The guys who have adapted...

And done all the accessory work (correctives, stretching, mobility)...

They're the ones who will excel.

Holler,

Chris Barnard

P.S.

it's not too late to adapt and switch to bodyweight training...

Whether your goal is more explosiveness,

A higher vertical,

More speed,

Or just more athleticism, I have you covered with the OTA Bodyweight Bundle... It contains:

[Overtime Athletes] 5 Ways to Become a Better Athlete at Home

It's gone on way longer than I suspected.

And tons have athletes have flooded my DMs asking me how to become a better athlete at home.

I tell them... I shared a bunch of methods already.

But, they want more.

I figured, I'd make a comprehensible list here, so you know plain and simple the steps you need to take to come out of this whole thing an evolved version of yourself.

Not just in terms of athletics.. But also discipline and confidence.

Because each day you accomplish everything you set out to do...

Your self-confidence grows...

And your discipline skyrockets..

These are easy to implement, don't take much time... Let's get into them:

1. Work on Structure
I've never met an athlete who didn't have a deficiency...

Some kind of imbalance or movement issue or structural deficiency.

You can look at these things like bad habits. And just like when you break the bad habit of only dribbling with your right hand and your athletic success increases...

Same goes for when you fix these structural deficiencies.

Use daily mobility, stretching, and correctives to accomplish this.

HIP MOBILITY ROUTINE FOR ATHLETES

2. Raise Your IQ
Almost all of the sports channels are replaying CLASSIC games throughout their respective histories. Battles of will, top-notch strategies, and high IQ plays are on display.

Are you taking advantage?

If not, you're wasting time.

7 REASONS WHY YOU ARE WATCHING SOCCER WRONG

3. Sharpen Your Speed Mechanics
You knew this was coming.

But, it really is great way to become a better athlete at home.

There’s no equipment required. No special space. Just you and patch of grass.

Sadly, most athletes avoid working on their speed mechanics because admittedly, it can be frustrating. But, once you get a handle on them, it’ll help you IMMENSELY in your sport.

#1 DRILL TO SPRINT FASTER & JUMP HIGHER AT HOME

4. Find Your Caloric Baseline
If you already have a handle on your nutrition, skip to the next step.

However, if you don’t, you should know that you’re leaving a mountain of athletic potential on the table.

See, while average people can get by on their three meals a day doing whatever they want, YOU CAN’T.

It’s similar to the way that a truck requires diesel fuel while regular cars require unleaded.

If you’re filling your body with unleaded fuel, you’ll lack the energy, strength, and power to excel in the weight room, at practice, and on the field.

Find out how to fill your body with diesel.

5. Enhance Your Movement Quality
Most athletes don’t realize this, but my goal in training an athlete is to enhance the movement qualities specific to their sport.

This is why I train MOVEMENTS, not MUSCLES.
AGILITY & QUICKNESS FOR SOCCER ATHLETES

And enhancing movement quality doesn’t necessarily require weights. Weights are just tools to add extra stimulus while training movements.

Now is a time you can assess deficiencies in your movement then spend time to correct the deficiencies by performing the movement with no weight.

Once you remove these deficiencies... Your athleticism will make a HUGE jump...

Strength, vertical, speed... Everything will go up.

And if you want help with this... you can check out the OTA Bodyweight Bundle.

It doesn't just contain your run-of-the-mill push-ups and pull-ups.

It contains EXPLOSIVE athletic training strategies tailored to your goals...

Whether that's speed,

Vertical,

Or overall athleticism.

You can find that here:

Get to work.

[OVERTIME ATHLETES]: No gimmicks (meet MJ's trainer)

A few days ago, I saw a dope video on Tim Grover.

I‘ve talked about Tim in these messages once or twice.

And if you don\"t know, he’s the strength coach responsible for the development of NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Charles Barkley, and more.

Anyway, in the video, Tim Grover talks about his "no gimmicks" approach to coaching Michael Jordan through two three-peat runs.

In short... while most trainers were throwing fancy, technology-driven training tactics at their athletes....

Tim’s "no gimmicks" approach consisted of the basic compound lifts...

Squats, deadlifts, bench press, cleans, and of course plyo\"s.

The training wasn’t sexy...

Or glamorous...

But it sure as hell was effective.

And this is the route I take.

In fact, each year I make a concentrated effort to simplify my training even more, while other coaches in the industry seem to be getting more and more complicated.

Here’s the thing...

Complicated doesn’t mean advanced.

And it doesn’t mean effective.

It’s important to make that distinction.

Anyway...

Another crazy thing Tim talks about in the video is the fact that Michael NEVER took a day off... EVER.

It didn’t matter if he had a game til 1 am the night before in a different city,

Or if it was a holiday,

Or even if he just won a championship...

Michael was up at 5, 6, or 7 ready to attack the weights...

Even crazier...

Kobe and Jordan didn’t taper their workouts during the season.

While most players tried to peel back the intensity, Michael and Kobe still trained with high intensity... This was to ensure they didn\"t lose power, muscle, or strength throughout the season.

While most guys would crumble under the mountain of stress of practices,

Games,

AND heavy weight training sessions...

Kobe and Michael didn’t even flinch.

How?

Tim says, they recovered hard...

Kobe and Michael spent big chunks of their day on stretching and mobility,

Dialing in their nutrition,

Using innovative regeneration techniques,

And of course... They optimized their sleep environment...

All things you can be doing too, if you don’t let your excuses get in the way...

You can find how to do all of this yourself with my no gimmicks Athletic Performance Optimization...

All that’s contained inside are science-backed optimization tips that can help you prevent injury, amplify your muscle gains, build more strength, and optimize your performance.

Are you ready to play all season?

Have an endless gas tank?

And wake up early in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to attack your day?

Good.

Because Athletic Performance Optimization can help you achieve that....

But, if you want in, I’d hurry...

The discount ends Sunday at midnight...

5 Tips for Athletic Greatness in the New Year

The New Year is approaching,

Which means we've got another opportunity to reinvent ourselves,

Work hard,

And take big steps towards our athletic goals.

Over the past few days, I've had some time to reflect, I've done some reading, and watched a couple of shows that have my mind running around total performance.

And I want to share a few tips, 5 tips, that will guide you towards unprecedented heights of athletic performance in the New Year.

Let's get into them:

1. Follow a program
Improv comedy and freestyle rapping are two of the most difficult skills to master. Freestyling cohesive workouts that will lead to improved performance is even harder. Nearly impossible.

This said, either create your own program, or follow someone else's

If you make it up as you go along, you can almost be certain that you're over/undertraining, not improving at the rate you should, and leaving athletic gains on the table.

2. Keep Things Simple
Just recently, I watched a Kevin Hart documentary that revealed some of his comedy process.

One of the cool things he does is, before he fills up a big stadium for his massive shows, he'll go to a small club, unannounced, and test his jokes to see if they land.

This is the equivalent of training in the gym to perform better in a game situation.

The idea is you break down the complexity of a game into bit-sized components so you can elevate your performance in those components. Best way to do this is with bare-bones, simple, dry movements.

3. Build a stretching/mobility routine
Do you have an extra 10 minutes a day?

Because you can get more power, lower your chance of injury, and experience significantly heightened performance in 10 minutes or less a day with stretching and mobility.

So, take some time to pinpoint your imbalances and build an arsenal of stretches to target those areas.

Your body will thank you with improved performance.

4. Hone in on your nutrition
Just the other day, I talked to one of my athletes who improved his live exit velo 6 mph in a couple of weeks through almost solely nutrition.

Nutrition is that powerful.

It will fuel your workouts, it will facilitate strength and muscle gain, it will help your performance.

If you're serious about athletics, it's an absolute necessity.

5. Pinpoint your weaknesses and eliminate them
I always talk about adding a tool.

Whether it's adding a left hand in basketball, getting lighter on your feet, or developing a lightning-quick first step, you should always look to add something to your game.

In the same fashion, you should look to bring your weaknesses up to standard.

High level guys are always doing this...

LeBron working on his shooting, Kobe working on his post up game, NFL DBs improving their game IQ...

This is what it takes to be successful in the athletic game.

=====

Just these five tips alone, if you stick to them like law, will elevate your performance to unprecedented heights. The top of the top NFL players, NBA players, MLB players, and the top performers in other sports execute on these tips without even thinking about it.

If you can do this too, no matter your level, who knows how high you can go.

Now, if you need a program to guide you in the New Year...

A program that has progressions to improve your athleticism,

Contains mobility and stretching for you to follow each day,

And keeps things simple enough to carry over to game situations,

You can take your pick below...

I put all my programs on sale for the next few days.

Whether you want to jump higher, run faster, get stronger, or have a specific sport you want to train,

Now's your chance to check them out, and get started on your New Year's grind, head over to the link below:
