Welcome to the bodyweight strength and speed program for this spring. There are 48 total workouts. We will do 3 workouts per week over the next 4 months. Before each workout, we will do the Warm-Up Protocol 2.0. In fact, before each training and each game, we will be do the protocol. You will need a foam roller for this.
Those that participate with consistency will improve their game with increased athleticism as well as a hardened mental resiliency. A disciplined approach to this will lead to personal growth in other aspects of your life as well. If you are serious about getting to the next level and beyond as a player, then this is yet another thing that you must place as a priority in your life. Success is not for the weak and the uncommitted.
What we do as competitive players is physical, demanding and difficult. Strength training hardens the body, the mind and the spirit. This is an opportunity to massively improve. Combine this with the application of the 3 Non-Negotiable Rules On How To Become A Player and you will be a completely different animal by the time we go to South Carolina for the regionals, where there will be scouts and college coaches watching.
The question isn't whether you have what it takes to start a new strength training program. The questions is, do you have the discipline and future-oriented mindset to finish it?
The warrior poet Dr. Eric Thomas passionately points out the importance of consistency and discipline in the video below:
Like I said before, we will do 3 workouts per week for 4 months. I will post a workout on each day we do one as a team. Those that are with their high school teams or unable to attend, you can always just check the site. Always remember, you can have results or you can have excuses.
I will post the link to each workout through GroupMe. I will not be posting it on TeamSnap. If you want to share this with your parents, be my guest. But I'm purposely not putting this on TeamSnap because I'm putting the onus and responsibility squarely on your shoulders. You're at an age where you need to start backing up what you say you want to do in the future. Relying on mommy and daddy to remind you to do your workout or to go work with the ball or anything related to the game is not good enough. A future next level player only needs to rely on himself to get what he wants. Mommy and daddy are just there for support and nothing else. They can't fight your battles. In spite of what anyone else tells you, your development and your future as a player is 100% your responsibility.
So, here we are again. Another chance to get better and to improve or just be the same old player. To quote Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday, "Now, what are you gonna do?"

Execution is worship. You got to get to a place where you start it, you get to the middle of it and finish it. Are you hearing me? And not just finish, but finish strong. Listen to me, the reason most of you will never be successful is because you procrastinate. You never finish stuff. You start and you never finish.
